The Prattville Autauga Character Coalition has recognized American Tire and Automotive as its first recipient for the Organization of character Award.

Billy Lynam received the award at the recent Prattville area Chamber Luncheon, which was sponsored by the Character Coalition.

American Tire and Automotive was selected because they promote character development and inspire high moral and ethical standards within the organization, as well as demonstrate excellence in the application of character traits.  You'll find their mission statement posted on the back wall of the office, which is "To build relationships and to serve our friends beyond their expectations."

To live by this mission, Lynam teaches the importance of honesty to his employees, and to go beyond customer expectations by cleaning the interior of cars before returning them to their owners.

The business moved to its current location in May 2007.  It promotes character development, upholds family values for its employees, and conducts community service when a need is recognized.

The Character Coalition spotlights one character trait a month to make the public aware that character development is something that starts on a personal level, yet impacts every single person on a community level.
